Equine winBase

Written in VB 6 and Visual C++. This program is used to manage the database(s) of the most well-known horse sale catalog producer in the country. It is a multi-user client-server program tying to Visual Foxpro database(s) with over 2 million records. We use ole Excel as our report-generator as opposed to Crystal reports because nearly all users know how to use Excel and can customize, email and format the reports to their tastes.

When we develop database programs we don't use ODBC or ADO. We access our databases through a direct connection API. This avoids the substantial overhead used by Windows. It dramatically increases speed and production.
